Main Campus Visits

If you prefer a one-on-one approach, we're happy to create a customized tour! Your individual visit to DSU generally lasts about two hours and includes:

• A tour of campus.
• The chance to talk to an admissions counselor.
• The option for a one-on-one meeting with a department representative in the major of your choice.
• Opportunity to meet with club directors, athletic coaches, ADA coordinator, and military benefits director.

Virtual visits

Whether you are planning to attend on-campus or online, we have virtual visits geared for any student. This one-on-one virtual visit gives students the chance to talk through the application and financial processes with an admissions counselor and also gives you the opportunity to meet with a program representative in the major of your choice. These visits can range from 30 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on your visit preferences.

Summer Series: Webinars & Videos

We know you can’t possibly absorb all this information in one day! That’s why we’ve
spread some of the information throughout the summer through a series of webinars
and videos. We want to make sure you get the information when you need it. Join
us for any webinar that relates to you, or even find a series of resource videos online as
well.

ATHLETICS

WEDNESDAY, JULY 17
Calling all future Trojan student-athletes! Join Dana Hoff, Athletics Advisor and Abbey
Cook, Head Athletics Trainer, for information about NAIA eligibility, class scheduling,
athletic physicals, insurance, and required paperwork.

PAYING FOR SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY, JULY 24
With billing statements going live, the delay in FAFSA, and trying to figure out payment plan options, you may have more questions. Join DSU staff from Financial Aid, Cashier, Scholarship, and Veteran Benefits offices as they will be available to provide updates, processes and answers to any questions you have lingering as you prepare for the start of the term.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PREP

TUESDAY, JULY 30
For new international students coming to DSU on an F1 visa, this webinar will answer all of those final questions you have before you head to South Dakota. Please join us to visit with Nicole Claussen, who is the Director of International Programs at DSU. She will review information on the new student orientation, getting registered for classes, health insurance, airport pickups , and much more.

HOUSING, AND DINING, AND ORIENTATION, OH MY!

WEDNESDAY, JULY 31
Housing, and dining, and orientation, oh my! Who is ready to get moved-in? Join Nic, Kim,
and Mandy as they talk through some last-minute details for Welcome Weekend. They
will cover housing details and what to bring, ways to be financially ready and other
things your Trojan card can do, and cover the ins and outs of orientation which will kick
off just after move-in.

DISABILITY & STRONG SERVICES

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7
Come talk with Theresa Plut and Jordan Schuh from the DSU Counseling Center to
learn more about DSU’s Disability and Strong Services. Jordan will talk about steps to
take, and resources for students on 504 plans and IEPs; while Theresa will cover our
STRONG Services for students on the autism spectrum. Please join them as
they talk about student resources and success, and other programming they offer for
students for the upcoming academic year.

TRANSFER STUDENT PREP

TUESDAY, AUGUST 13
Switching colleges can be scary but also a refreshing change of pace. Join Dayton Keyman,
transfer coordinator and Mandy Hendrix as they cover details about move-in processes
for transfer students, as well as what DSU transfer orientation looks like. Get ready to
take those final steps to becoming a Trojan!

Dakota State University is elevating its emerging technology offerings with advanced degrees in Artificial Intelligence. Master’s programs will begin in fall 2024.

The South Dakota Board of Regents voted this week to expand its South Dakota Advantage program to include students from Minnesota, Kansas, and Missouri.
