the oscars controversy (will smith slaps chris rock)https://lnkd.in/dCnS7J42I’m still not over what happened at the Oscars last night. Will Smith slapping Chris Rock was the most shocking thing I’ve ever seen on live TV. I don’t know what to think. On one hand, I understand that Will Smith was offended by Chris Rock’s joke about his movie and that he was going through a lot of personal issues. On the other hand, I think that Chris Rock was just doing his job as a comedian and that he didn’t deserve to be assaulted. I think that violence is never the answer and that both of them should apologize and make peace. This is what happens when you work intentionally to build trust within your team. This is what happens when you truly care about the wellbeing of your colleagues beyond the work day. This is what happens when you humanize the workforce. We need more of this.

“I wouldn’t use those words.”Reporters are often accused by the people they cover of “taking quotes out of context” or “putting words in my mouth.” Yes, that happens, but often people just don’t like seeing what they really think - and said - in print.
